He uses the proprietary ComfortFreeze™ anesthetic blend which makes the freezing less painful going in. Then, instead of using a scalpel to cut through the scrotum, a small pinhole is made with a gentle tissue separator. The vas deferens are then isolated and cut. He completed an undergraduate degree, a physiotherapy masters degree, medical school and residency at the University of Alberta. He then completed additional training in the no-scalpel vasectomy technique with world renowned surgeon, Dr. Douglas Stein in Florida.
